Lead Abatement

Experts in the safe & effective removal of lead paint

Lead Abatement

Lead paint was widely used in houses, commercial and industrial buildings right up to the 1970s.

Lead contains neurotoxins, which are dangerous to all, particularly children. Exposure to lead paint can be a serious health hazard, especially during building renovations, repainting and repairs

When it comes to lead abatement, we never compromise on safety

Dukes has proven record of removing hazardous lead paint from various structures and surfaces made from brick, concrete, wood and steel.

We provide our lead abatement services under strictly controlled conditions to create a safe environment for our team, as well as other workers in the adjacent areas.

The safe and effective removal of lead paint means your building surfaces are prepared for recoating.

Here’s how we’ll approach your lead abatement project

  1. One of our experienced Project Managers will scope out your project, providing you with guideline on the approach and timing of the job.
  2. Once our lead abatement team arrives on site, they’ll suit-up with all the equipment they need to stay safe, including HEPA-filtered masks, safety glasses, disposable suits, gloves and shoe protectors.
  3. To minimise the risk of spreading any lead-contaminated dust, they’ll then isolate the work area. Depending on the size of the project, the team will tape-up all windows and doors, protect surfaces with plastic, and use a negative air machine (with HEPA filter) to collect airborne contaminants.
  4. Using abrasive blasting or stripping, the team will remove and protect anything that may attract lead dust or debris.
  5. Once surfaces are loosened and removed, the team will bag and seal materials to contain any debris and prepare it for safe disposal.
  6. A thorough clean-up is an essential part of any lead abatement job. Our team will remove all lead-based material and clean surfaces ready for treatment.
